The North Dakota Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents' mission is to provide high quality, professional, and effective legal representation to eligible clients, consistent with the guarantees of the constitutions of the United States and North Dakota, and applicable North Dakota statutes and rules, at reasonable cost to the community.

Commission on Legal Counsel Director Travis Finck was awarded the Gerald W. VandeWalle Medal at the Awards banquet of the North Dakota State Bar Association. The Award is presented to an individual, who need not be a lawyer, who bring credit to the State of North Dakota, its judicial system, and to the administration of justice in our state and our country.
Commission joins with Federal Public Defenders and North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to hold continuing legal education

The Commission joined with the federal public defenders for the District of North and South Dakota and the NDACDL to hold a continuing legal education. The education was approved for 11 hours of CLE credit. 10 general plus the one hour of ethics.
